It has taken me two-and-a-half years to update my blog and add Part II. Whenever I felt that it was time to update my work, I couldn't. I would visit my site, view my video, "What makes a home?," read the accompanying "Taking Flight -- Part I," and then determine that both still fit my circumstances... Or, maybe it is better said that my heart was in a holding pattern. Now, don't get me wrong, a lot has happened in the past two-and-a-half
years. Most important: I have learned that one's heart can be in one
place while one's soul moves forward.
The video that I posted with Part I asked the question, "What makes a
home?" That video includes many elements that I hold dear in life,
which boils down to relationships with family, friends, animals, and
nature.
I have discovered that wherever I am at, I am at home. Wherever I happen to be, I am connected with what I value and hold dear. In the last two-and-a-half years, however, I have learned that I need to add to my list: colleagues, fun, music, and adventure.
Challenges and hurdles continue. My heart and soul are joining forces, however. Therefore, my wings are stronger. I am indeed taking flight and I am thankful.
