So what about that pending empty nest?

Our family has been swirling with major monumental events as the youngest counts down to high school graduation in a couple of weeks. Thank goodness she is accustomed to Mom's sentimental tears that flare-up at the strangest of times.
Let's see... some recent monumental moments include... her final high school theatrical performance in Little Women (note my blog photo: proud mom with Mrs. Kirk), Prom, her final Band Concert and the flurry of getting those graduation announcements in the mail.
Friends have told me that "There's something special about the youngest..."
I think that I've put my finger on it... It's the culmination, bringing allll of those precious memories to the forefront of allllll of the other kids' monumental moments... joining forces with 'this one's' experiences. I don't know. Is that it?
All I know is that I never knew that my senses could be any more receptive and reactive. Maybe it's menopause?!? Nope. I'm sure it's that culmination thing.
Sooo... yep, they're tears of pride, joy and delight. Maybe a twinge of that "empty nester ponder" going on as well. Thanks for bearing with me.
